Development of a 10 kVA superconducting transformer by using Ag sheated Bi-2223 tape supported by MIUR (Italian Ministry of Research).

Research project of GETRA SpA underway in cooperation with CRIS and CREATE (Consorzio di Ricerca per l'Energia e le Applicazioni Tecnologiche dell'Elettromagnetismo).

The research is aimed at :

bullet

development of design and technological capabilities for the manufacturing of superconducting transformers;

bullet

analysis of potential benefits of superconducting transformers.
